Great business.Wrong first impression.

Substance needs proper presentation.

Strategy, words, design, build, search, analytics.

Everything has to agree.

The strategy, words, identity, interface and machinery underneath should feel like they came from the same place.

Four businesses. Same problem every time.

Good at the work, stuck with an old website. Scroll each one and watch the site catch up.

Harbour & Pine

custom home builder

  1. Harbour & Pine builds whole custom houses with one crew, start to finish.
  2. Their old homepage led with a clip-art hammer and a list of every job a handyman takes. Nothing said they build houses.
  3. I led with a finished house and how they work, so the first screen says builder.

Quietwire

home automation and AV

  1. Quietwire wires lighting, sound and shades into houses so the controls disappear.
  2. The old site was brand logos and a specials banner. It read like a discount electronics aisle.
  3. I cut it to one quiet line and the three systems they install, so the site sounds like the houses they finish.

Fennimore Platt

accountants for owner-run businesses

  1. Fennimore Platt keeps the books and does the tax for businesses run by their owners.
  2. Their site had a stock handshake and forty services in one paragraph. It looked like every other firm.
  3. I set it like a tidy ledger: who it's for, who does what through the year, and a way to book a call.

Low Tide

landscape design and maintenance

  1. Low Tide designs gardens, builds them, and comes back every season to keep them.
  2. The old page was a slideshow that never loaded, and the phone number lived on another page.
  3. I put the number at the top and let a real garden carry the page.
